Darkness Descending will be a Backyard Ultra - runners will complete a 4.1 mile off road loop within the hour, every hour, until they can no longer manage the 4.1 mile within the one hour time frame. Runners who fail to complete the loop in the hour will be out the race.
Runners who can keep running the 4.1 mile loop within the hour will have the rest of that hour to rest and refuel before the bell goes for the next loop. The race will run for twelve hours or until all runners drop out.
