Why the Fritillaria Flower?

Elegant and enchanting, their unique checkered patterns and nodding habits, have been catching the eye for thousands of years. These small but beautiful plants have inspired myths and symbolism in many different cultures around the world from remembrance, sorrow, and loss.

About the artist

Ellie is an artist and part-time special needs teacher.

She creates glass sculptures and works to commissions. She also runs relaxed and popular workshops in her home studio in Hassocks, West Sussex.

Ellie loves working with coloured and textured glass as she finds it a therapeutic and a meditative process. Since completing a BA Hons in Visual Arts specialising in ceramic sculptures designed for the garden and qualifying as a teacher, she has continued to create artwork inspired by nature.
