Delights for both young and old; we invite you on a steam train journey along the Chiltern foothills, with Red Kites whirling overhead and the steam curling lazily past your window, on Sunday 12 June 2022, at Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway.

We will board our train at 12pm; as the signal clangs, the guard will show a green flag and with all clear given, our driver will gently ease the regulator open, and we are off! Sit back and enjoy the seven-and-a-half-mile round trip, with an onboard talk about the history of Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway. What an exciting afternoon which is sure to evoke memories of yesteryear; but for others, a steam hauled train ride is just a wonderful and completely new travel experience!

We have 15 tickets available, priced £15 each. Your ticket includes a free companion, train journey and onboard history talk.

The line opened in the 1870s with passenger services ending in 1957. The line remained open for coal and cement traffic to and from Chinnor cement works until 30 years ago. The rural hilly line has remained unchanged in the last 75 years making it a superb railway filming location and with the new station at Princes Risborough, a modern station location, it offers both heritage and modern settings which have all been used as major film locations, including Midsomer Murders and Silent Witness!

We look forward to welcoming you and hopefully some new faces from the local area.
