Thank you for your interest in 5K A Day In May 2024. If you have any queries, please get in touch with [email protected].

May is National Walking Month 2024 and at Retina UK, we would love you to take on a 5K challenge every day in May!

To take part, donate £5 to enter and then ask your friends and family to sponsor you as you take on either a daily walk or something else (run, cycle, swim etc)! You could also complete 5,000 steps as an alternative to 5K of daily exercise.

We would love to see your social media posts and stories, so please tag Retina UK in your posts and use the hashtags #TeamRetinaUK and #5KADayInMay.

If you raise £100 or more, we will send you a complimentary Retina UK t-shirt to wear, or you can purchase your own during the registration process.

Your fundraising will support people like Angie: “I was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa approximately 25 years ago, just after Kirsten, my beautiful daughter, was born. I started struggling in the dark and after a few falls, I realised there was a problem. I went to the opticians and they referred me to the eye hospital. After various tests, I was diagnosed with RP. I knew nothing about Retina UK before my diagnosis. It was the first time I had heard of them and I just couldn't believe the work they've been doing and how much work they've put into supporting people with lived experience. It was very emotional to find out about Retina UK because I had not talked to anybody and I felt quite isolated. I didn't feel like I was on my own. They know their stuff and they know what they're talking about. I just can't tell you how much I just think Retina UK is an amazing charity. They do so much for the visually impaired community.”
