Terms and Conditions

The Terms and Conditions of your participation in the Great Manchester Run 2025:

You must agree the terms and conditions below which also constitute the fundraising agreement between Breakthrough T1D and you, as a participant, which is required by law. You will not be able to register for one of our places unless you tick the box indicating that you have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions.

1. I warrant (ie confirm) that I will be over the age of 17 on the day of the event (Sunday 18th May 2025).

2. I acknowledge that I take part in the 2025 Great Manchester Run at my own risk and it is my responsibility to undertake appropriate training and take and follow appropriate medical advice in relation to my participation.

3. I will pay a non-refundable registration fee to secure a charity place in the 2025 Great Manchester Run. The registration fee does not contribute towards my fundraising target.

4. I will use my best endeavours to raise money for Breakthrough T1D, the type 1 diabetes charity, in connection with my participation in the event and, in particular, aim to raise a minimum sponsorship pledge of �350 for the Half Marathon distance/�150 for the 10k distance.

5. I will ask all sponsors (unless they are donating via my online sponsorship page) to complete a sponsorship form which will include an option for sponsors to ensure their donation also attracts Gift Aid and I understand that I must only use the sponsorship form(s) provided or approved by Breakthrough T1D.

6. I understand that Gift Aid does not count towards my fundraising target.

7. Sponsorship money is given by way of donation and once given is generally non-refundable, even if I fail to take part in, or withdraw from, the event, and if necessary I will tell my sponsors this. 

8. I understand that Breakthrough T1D will give a six week deadline after my event has taken place to collect all sponsorship money in. If for any reason this is not possible, I will let Breakthrough T1D know before the six weeks is up and send any money I have already collected in to them.�

9. I will immediately inform Breakthrough T1D if anything happens which puts my participation in doubt.

10. Except for death and personal injury resulting from the negligence of Breakthrough T1D or its personnel, I hereby waive any claims against Breakthrough T1D and its personnel for any injury, loss or damage to person or property, which I suffer participating in this event or any on site activity. I attest that I am physically fit and able to participate in this event. Where I have had any concerns whatsoever about my physical fitness or health I have consulted my doctor, who has not advised me against participating. 

11. I grant full permission for Breakthrough T1D to film and take photographs of me and to use, in a reasonable manner and context, any film footage, photographs and quotations from me in future marketing material and promotions of this event and Breakthrough T1D.

12. Once you are registered with Breakthrough T1D, we will send you a pre-paid invite from the Great Manchester Run race organisers. You will need to complete this registration process and agree to the Great Manchester Run terms & conditions.
