Important information!

With all the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that everyone is looking forward to brighter days. So, we are heartbroken to announce that we must cancel the 7th Annual Walk/Run/Roll in Lauren’s Shoes scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2020, at the Buffalo Waterfront.

Why are we canceling?

The fight against the coronavirus is changing on a weekly basis, which makes it impossible to predict what social distancing rules and health precautions will be in place come June. However, one thing we do know is that individuals with CP are considered high risk for severe health issues if they get the COVID-19 disease. The Walk/Run/Roll in Lauren’s Shoes is a celebration of CP Warriors and their families – and the last thing we want to do is put our community in harm’s way.

Also, our location, Wilkeson Pointe at the Outer Harbor Buffalo, is not expecting to be open for large gatherings in June. Since our event takes months of planning and organizing, it’s not possible to reschedule for later in the year. We also decided that a virtual event could not capture the spirit and inspiration of our race day. But we plan on holding the Walk/Run/Roll in Lauren's Shoes the same weekend in 2021 – and with your help, we will make it bigger and more uniting than ever.

What happens if I already registered?

At the Make Lemon Aide Foundation for CP, we understand that now is also an uncertain time financially for many of our supporters. That’s why we are offering two easy options for those who have already registered for the 2020 Walk/Run/Roll in Lauren’s Shoes.

Many thanks.

Finally, we’d like to recognize and thank our volunteers, sponsors, fundraisers, and partners. Your efforts and support will make a difference, even though we will not be together in June.

  • Sponsors: GEICO, Concept Logistics, Atlantic Garages, UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, and Charles Schwab. These companies have generously donated their sponsorships to the Make Lemon Aide Foundation for CP.

  • Top 3 Zest for Life fundraisers as of March 31: Reed Kotalik (Texas), Dylan Heine (Hamburg, NY), and Joey Khoury (South Buffalo, NY). Your prizes are on their way!

  • Valued vendors and partners: Race Management Solutions, This Promo Works, MVP Consulting, Wonderland Character Entertainment, Urban Valet Dry Cleaners, Todd Santos (WIVB’s Chief 4 Warn Meteorologist), Buffalo Waterfront, 85 West Communications, Superhero Alliance of WNY, musician Chris Hendricks, The Blend food truck, House of Munch food truck, Synergy Wellness, Buster Bison, Sabretooth, Nels Ross, Injest, and Ted Burzynski from “It’s Magic of Course.”

See you in 2021!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your courageous, steadfast support. The Walk/Run/Roll in Lauren’s Shoe is our largest annual fundraising event, and every dollar offers opportunity and hope to the CP community.

From all of us at the Make Lemon Aide Foundation for CP, we send you lemon love. Be safe and we can’t wait to see you in 2021!
