JOIN US this September for Vascular Awareness Month and our 30th anniversary!

Are you looking to take on a new challenge event?

We would be delighted for you to join us in collectively achieving the 60,000 miles that make up the circulatory system! The circulatory system is extremely long - if you were to lay out all of the arteries, veins and capillaries in one adult, end to end, they would stretch about 60,000 miles (100,000 kilometres).

What’s more, if you raise £50 or over, you will receive a #TheBodyWalk medal too!

About #TheBodyWalk

September is Vascular Awareness Month and the Circulation Foundation's #TheBodyWalk is a national campaign to heighten awareness of vascular disease and to raise money to fund vital research and develop resources to support our patients. We are hoping that everyone can get involved in helping us to raise funds to support patients to live their best lives whilst having to cope with serious circulatory problems.

The Circulation Foundation is aiming to raise awareness of these diseases by asking the entire vascular community and beyond to join in to walk the 60,000 miles of the circulatory system. The Body Walk started two years ago in 2020, and even with national lockdown, we still managed to achieve over 4,500 miles and raise £7,000 that year! If you can walk, run, cycle and/or swim, you can get involved!

As of this year, we have now completed 40,764 miles around the circulatory system, and raised £23,774!!

EVERY mile matters and EVERY mile counts!

Join up today: WE NEED YOUR MILES!

After registering, please link your fundraising page to your own Strava account which will populate automatically when you complete your miles (or you can even add miles manually if you ride a static bike/trainer, or on a treadmill, at home or in a gym’). If you haven't already set up a Strava account, you can do so for free here: Create a free account with Strava then share away with your friends and family to gather sponsorship!

Teams (up to 6 people): Why not gather a team? Family, friends or colleagues all are welcome. Choose a team leader to register for the challenge and create a team. Once the team has been created, other team members should register using the ‘Individual Entry as part of team’ option and then find their team to join. Connect all your Strava accounts and your miles will automatically contribute to your team total during September.

Calling all vascular units! We are running a vascular unit competition! All vascular teams will enthusiastically compete against each other. The team to achieve the most donations throughout September will be presented with #TheBodyWalk Vascular Unit trophy at The Vascular Societies' Annual Scientific Meeting dinner.

Individual entries: We will be presenting the individial with the most donations and miles raised with a #TheBodyWalk trophy.

You've got to be in it to win it so sign up today! Caution: there is pride at stake.

Enquiries: If you have any questions please email us [email protected]
