Sussex Three Peaks 2026
Saturday, 20 June 2026, 08:30
Did you know that people experiencing homelessness often walk an average of 11 miles a day in search of safety, food, and shelter?
To put that into context, that’s roughly the same distance as walking from Worthing to Littlehampton (10 miles), Horsham to Haywards Heath (10 miles), or Arundel to Chichester (11 miles) - every single day.
On Saturday 20th June 2026, we’ll be walking a similar distance -approximately 15 miles through the South Downs - to raise vital funds and awareness for people in our local community who are experiencing homelessness.
Although our walk can never truly compare to the reality of homelessness, it gives us a moment to reflect - to better understand, even in a small way, the challenges faced by those without a home.
This year marks our second Sussex Three Peaks Challenge, and we’re determined to make it even bigger and better than last year!
At Turning Tides, we know that homelessness isn’t about bad choices -it’s often about bad luck stacking up. That’s why we don’t just offer a bed for the night; we help people rebuild their lives, finding stability, confidence, and community again.
Register today and take a step toward change. Together, we can make a real difference.
Invite your family, friends, and colleagues to join you for this incredible experience - there’s no age limit, and the more the merrier!
The 24km walk will be led by two experienced mountain leaders Cathy (Heads Up Adventures) and Fred (Boondock Events). The route starts in Steyning and takes in three iconic South Downs peaks: Steep Down, Cissbury Ring, and Chanctonbury Ring, before returning to Steyning.
It will, of course, be a physical challenge - walking for 7 to 8.5 hours certainly is. But it’s also an opportunity to walk in solidarity with those facing homelessness, to learn more about their experiences, and to reflect on the resilience and strength people show in rebuilding their lives.
