Let’s sweat it together this Spring with Childline! We are asking individuals, companies and schools to break a mental or physical sweat while supporting our 24hr listening service.

Let your students know! If it’s BIG to you; it’s BIG to us! This Spring, we are asking students and teachers to take on a Lap and Chat in aid of Childline.

What is a Lap and Chat?

Pair up with a friend in your class and take a few laps around your yard, school or P.E hall. During your lap, chat about what is on your mind and what may be worrying you. And don’t forget to listen to your friends worries during your lap.

Childline is a 24hr listening service for children and young people all across Ireland. We are here to support you on any issue no matter how big or small – because If it’s BIG to you; it’s BIG to us!

Sometimes sharing your worries and chatting with a friend can help us feel better so why not take on the challenge this Spring!

How to take part:

• Click the Register Now button on this page and register your school or class!
• Childline will be in touch after you’ve set up your fundraising page. We will provide your class/school with a virtual school talk, an information booklet on how Childline can support your students & teachers and an activity workbook for your students.
• Choose a date between March 27^th and April 2^nd to host a lap and chat in your school. Inform students, parents and teachers by sending them the link to your fundraising page! The link can be easily shared by Whatsapp, Email, your internal school system, to your website, to your school social media pages, to Aladdin or Unique.
• Ask each student to donate €5 through your schools fundraising page to take part.
• Partner up with a friend in your class or school and start your lap! During your lap, talk about what is on your mind or what might be worrying you.
• After you Lap and Chat, complete the reflection piece in your workbook to learn more about how talking about our worries can make us feel better.
• Your donations will automatically be sent to Childline from the fundraising page. These donations will support our 24hr phone and chat line.
• After you’ve finished, your school will receive a certificate of completion.
