Put Your Hand Up Day is a fundraising and awareness day aimed at fundraising for much needed services and supports adults with disabilities.

It is also an important day to spread awareness about disabilities and to get people to understand what it might be like to have a disability.

Put Your Hand Up Day is in recognition of International Day of Persons with Disabilities which falls each year on December 3rd. We ask that people hold their Put Your Hand Up Day event the week before or the week after this.

We ask that for one day only you use only one hand and see what challenges you face.  Afterwards come together as a group and have a discussion using our Group Discussion Form.  Consider if your community is accessible for all.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities was established by The United Nations in 1992. The day aims to promote understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and wellbeing of persons with disabilities.
