Join us in March for our new and exciting 30 Day Fitness challenge.

Whether you have a personal peak to summit in 2021 or simply want to get more active, the latest Blesma challenge invites you to scale your own motivational mountain, and get fit while supporting veterans in 2021.

The elevations in this challenge are equivalent  to one of four famous Peaks. You can start off by scaling the height of Cat Bells which can be achieved in 169 flights of stairs, or ascend Mount Olympus in 14,500 steps! You choose the height and you choose how you complete your peak over 30 days. Challenge yourself to a further distance in just one day, or slow it down and break the challenge up over the month.

Pick your peak choose from the following:

  • Cat Bells - 451m (Level 1) - 2,200 stairs or 169 flights of stairs
  • Pen Y Fan - 886m (Level 2) - 4,400 stairs or 338 flights of stairs
  • Ben Nevis - 1345m (Level 3) - 6,700 stairs or 515 flights of stairs
  • Mount Olympus - 2918m (Level 4) - 14,500 stairs or 1,115 flights of stairs

Our event is Covid-19 secure; we want you to all to Be Safe, Feel Safe, Stay Safe

To achieve this, we ask all participants to follow Government guidance regarding social distancing and wearing a face covering if needed when participating in our event.

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is one of only around ten charities that exist today from the 18,000 that were born out of WWI.

We are the only national Service charity that supports limbless veterans for life, offering financial and emotional support to them and their families. Just as we are still caring for our World War II veterans, we also look after younger generations who have survived complex trauma injury in recent conflicts.

Our membership is made up of veterans who have suffered life changing injures and who have had many mountains to climb on the long road to recovery, using physical activity as part of their own rehabilitation

How it works

How high do you think you can ascend in 30 days? You need to complete the challenge by tracking your elevation, either by walking uphill or by completing the number of steps using a set of stairs or a stair machine. You can even complete the number of flights of stairs needed to reach your chosen height!

If you are walking or climbing outside, you will need to use Strava or another fitness tracking device to track either your elevation or the number of uphill steps you have completed. If you use Strava you can link it directly to your fundraising page.

You have the whole of March to complete your chosen height, so you can either do it all at once or break it up and complete it over the month. If you manage it in time, why not try to do it all over again, or take on the next famous peak?

You will recieve an exclusive medal on completion of your challenge.
