At Northampton Saints Foundation, everything we do is focused on transforming the lives of young people. Each year, we support those who are struggling with education, confidence, behaviour, or personal circumstances helping them find stability, belief and a brighter future.

In September 2026, you and the rest of the team will be taking on one of the Foundations most ambitious fundraising challenges yet: an expedition to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Standing at 5,895 metres (19,341ft), Kilimanjaro is the highest freestanding mountain in the world and a powerful symbol of the barriers many young people face every day.

Why Kilimanjaro?

The young people we work with show courage, resilience and determination in overcoming challenges far greater than most of us will ever experience. This expedition represents our commitment to standing alongside them step by step, day by day - no matter how steep the climb.

Every pound raised from this challenge will support our programmes across Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes, enabling us to:

• Provide safe, supportive environments for young people

• Deliver tailored education, mentoring and wellbeing interventions

• Offer structure, stability and hope

• Expand our reach through the Future of the Foundation project

At this stage we do not want to share a monetary target, we would rather get everyone together and agree as a team what we feel is achievable. 

Who’s Taking Part?

A growing team of Foundation representatives, supporters, partners and former Northampton Saints players - including Tom Wood, Alex Waller, have already committed to the climb.

Our goal is to form a 15-strong squad, reflecting the spirit and unity of a full rugby team. Each participant will be fundraising individually, contributing to the overall team campaign.
