Join Team MC running club for its 2nd annual marathon in Istanbul. You will be among 20,000 people running in between the continents of Europe and Asia. This iconic marathon will take you through the heart of Istanbul, passing some of the most historic sites in the world such as the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. You will also see the Grand Bazaar (Kapali Carsi) in Beyazit with over 4,000 vendors.
The 5-day trip will also give you the opportunity to visit the Topkapi Palace Museum where you will immerse yourself in Ottoman history and get a chance to view some of the ancient Muslim relics such as the swords of the companions and the seal of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
The course of the Istanbul Marathon passes near Hagia Sophia Mosque (formerly a museum) but this should not be enough for you. After the race, it is worth going back to explore this gem, dating back to the year 325 A.D and named the 8th wonder of the world.

Please ensure you are fully vaccinated before departing for the Istanbul Run 2022. This will ensure there is minimal trouble whilst travelling.
The Cause
Yemen is in the midst of a major crisis. Armed conflict, displacement, famine and disease have meant 22.2 million people are in desperate need of your help. Currently, over 75% of the entire population needs desperate humanitarian aid. That's 22.2 million people in the middle of a major man-made crisis.
11.3 million are in acute need of immediate assistance just to survive; an increase of over 1,000,000 people since 2017. Nearly one in three of every district in the region has been identified as a priority; meaning they are facing a heightened risk of famine and require coordinated and integrated response efforts to avert catastrophe. The 2018 Humanitarian Needs Overview estimated that 1.8 million children under the age of five are at risk of acute malnutrition whilst 400,000 are at risk of severe acute malnutrition; that's one in three children in desperate need.
The target is £400 and we will support you with materials, videos, and pictures to support your fundraising efforts.
Our experienced runners and veterans from the Istanbul Run will guide you through your journey no matter what your level. Most of our runners are new to running with a set goal to stay fit and healthy whilst also helping a worthwhile cause. Even if you can’t make it to the regular training sessions our team leaders can track your running through an app and give you advice over the phone.
