The Fire and Lego Walk has been postponed from its original date of 6th December 2025 to 15th February 2026.

Join Dorothy House Hospice Care for a short but challenging walk at Dorothy House Hospice Care in Winsley on Sunday 15 February 2026! Choose from hot coals or Lego and conquer mind and body in this exciting fundraising challenge.

Taking place in the picturesque grounds of the Hospice, the Firewalk is open to everyone over the age of 18 and the Lego Walk is open to all ages. We know the walk isn’t always easy, both in life and as part of this thrilling challenge, but we’ll be there with you every step of the way.

There will be two Firewalk sessions taking place, the early walk from 3pm – 5:30pm and the evening walk from 6pm – 8:30pm. The Lego Walk will start at 3pm and run throughout the evening, so anyone over 18 years old taking on the Firewalk can then watch any friends and family participating in the Lego Walk.

Participants will be asked to raise as much as they can, with a suggestion of £200 for the Firewalk and £100 for the Lego Walk.

Dorothy House Hospice Care delivers over 90% of their care out in the community it serves across Bath & North East Somerset and parts of Somerset and Wiltshire. For every £1 we receive from the Government we need to raise an additional £4 through events like our Firewalk and Lego Walk.

  • £78 could fund an expert counsellor to run a support group session for young adults with a life-limiting illness, helping them feel less alone.

  • £123 could fund a morning of care provided by a Community Nurse Specialist, helping patients manage pain, discomfort, emotional distress and coordinating their care.

  • £218 could fund a compassionate, skilled and experienced Hospice at Home Carer to provide care overnight, enabling a patient to stay at home at the end of their life.

Our Life Lines campaign

Whatever happens, it’s reassuring to know that Dorothy House is there for you and your family, a dependable lifeline when things get tough. Because Dorothy House isn’t just a place or collection of services.

But we need your help. Without the generous support of our communities, we can’t continue to offer these vital lifelines.

Our Life Lines campaign aims to raise £500K before the end of the year to ensure that care, compassion, and connection are always there—when and where people need it most.

Help write the next lines with us – together, we can keep the story going.
